Well it’s a super oil painting in my opinion, and I would consider it finished, but only you know!

Thanks, Alan. I'll asses it over the next few days but I think it's finished. Any adjustments will be minor tweaks. It helps to know that you consider it finished because your painterly, plein air / through-the studio-window style is the kind of work I want to produce.

Lovely palette and pastoral scene Roger.

I like this, Roger.

Glad you like my recent series Roger. I’ve been concentrating on adding a bit more interest to the skies which seems to add another dimension. You’re consistently producing some fine accomplished work so well done!

I’m not and oil painter and I would not comment on your technique but to me it looks a fine painting on its own. There is always the risk of overworking the painting, it’s a thing I often need to remind myself of. One touch to many will spoil it for you as you will only see the bit you should not have done. Sorry to be so long winded.

16" x 20" oil on canvas. I found this view and several other subjects on Thursday, 31st October. I wasn't convinced that the painting I started on Friday was worth finishing so I started (and I think finished) version 2 this afternoon. Having just looked at version 1 again, I'll go back to it and compare the two. I'm pleased with the freshness of this one; I'd appreciate comments, particularly about whether or not it's finished.
