The old viaduct which used to carry the LNER line between Aberdeen and Inverness forms the background to this painting. I was really taken by the jewel-like sparkles in the deep blue water of the Spey when I was there, although I've warmed it up quite a bit - it was a couple of degrees below freezing when I did the sketching for this!
