I’ve just this minute come across your beautiful rendering of the church on Cartmel Fell - one of my favourite, quiet, out of the way places which I have painted several times. When I was first married (63 years ago) i was working for Ulverston Rural District Council and my job often took me to delightful spots like Cartmel Fell, Coniston and Bardsea. There were so many of them. Why did I leave the Lake District? I doubt whether I’ll ever visit the area north of the sands again, but I’ll never forget it.
