Good to see you posting again, Robert. Great composition: the view from below the magnificent tree.

A magnificent view Robert, and painting of course.

Lovely to see you back Robert. Love this, what a magnificent tree.

After much scrutiny, well you did ask in your blog, I must say that this is all rather splendid! A very acceptable range of greens, the tree itself has some excellent brush work and I do like those colours (on the tree). An interesting limited palette, don’t they always work best, why do we have to use so many colours? Lead white is my favourite as you know, what is your source of supply Robert? So, no scathing criticism or suggestions to offer - great to see you painting again, particularly in oils.

This positively glows Robert. Beautifully painted especially the magnificent tree.....lovely to see your special signature included.

Good sense of colour in this piece Robert, and I like the sense of climb that hill.

Fantastic trees with that wonderful dramatic diagonal Robert. Great use of colour.

Beautiful composition and beautiful colours, Robert.

I agree with Fiona. It glows Robert.

Beautiful light.

A wonderful demonstration of tree perspective, really shows the grandure of it.

Thanks to all - I've not used Prussian Blue for a long time; my tube is a rather elderly Daler Rowney 'Georgian', but it's real Prussian Blue pigment, not a mix of Pthalo; and although it has a fierce reputation (principally for invading everything) I found it worked well in mixes; wonder if Pthalo would have worked so well..... hmmm. Something to try.

Autumn for the big old trees, but not yet for the smaller ones: more so this year than most. Lead white, Titanium White, Mars Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Cadmium Yellow, Prussian Blue, Virdian under-painting.
