A tricky subject is this, getting the contrast just right, and well handled, these colours all look fine on my monitor.

Oh Yes! This is a splendid piece of work, Robert. The gradations of the light are superb. Very difficult to do from the interior, and you have done it so well! No rips on the way out, then, one presumes.....

Ta, all. Yes, always a rat. <br /><br />And the difference in monitors might explain a lot of things, now I come to think of it; generally, my pictures have come out very well on the new site - just a couple have been a bit off register in one way or other.

Acrylic, 8" by 10". This is the interior of the cave whose exterior I painted in oil. It wasn't possible to take any sort of decent photograph inside the cave, so I sketched it from memory, and painted this from the sketch. It's a bit fanciful, reflecting its genesis, but quite close to what it felt like to be in there (and wondering if I was going to be able to get out again without ripping my clothing to shreds and breaking ankle, wrist, or leg...)
