18" x 14". ORIGINAL SOLD. AVAILABLE AS GICLÉE PRINTS. In 2007 I visited the Tatton Park Flower Show and whilst touring the orchid displays photographed several of the more exotic species. Once of those was this beautiful hybrid Cattleya Orchid. It is a really stunning flower and I have tried to capture that beauty in this painting. Flowers are surprisingly difficult to paint, and it is easy to lose the soft texture of the petals by applying too much paint. It therefore requires a series of washes to achieve the desired result.
