The one were you looked very small? Do you know Rebecca , you are painting every day and the difference between this one and your first posting is very much improved. This has a lovely sense of distance.

Thank you Sylvia. Yes both the paintings are cheat methods using Gimp. Though i like creating these type of paintings, i really enjoy my free style from my imagination, the cheat is that i take a photo, and change it into a photocopy in gimp, so that it is like a colouring page, then print off a small colour version and use that as reference for painting.

That aint cheating Rebecca, your painting from a photo or a print out, so what, There is nothing superior about painting from life,, use them photos or print outs and make as many sketches and paintings from them as you like. Don't be too slavish though, fool around with the composition with your sketches until youi have the result you want, and then fire into the painting. I tend to sketch from the computer screen then delete the photo and just work from my sketch I like this pic, on the left, perhaps tther should have been an uplift to the bank, on both sides of the water to stop the impression of it running out of the picture. Excellent treatment of the foreground bank and track. best Mick

Hi Mick, thanks for commenting and looking at my paintings. It is cheating because it's a colouring page basically that i am colouring in with paint :-p Yes it is a photograph i took of the chateau, but i downloaded Gimp, opened the photograph in gimp, then choice photocopy from the artistic filter section, and thats how you can take away all the detail and turn it into a colouring page :-p so thats the cheat to make my paintings look realistic which i enjoy, but i prefer from my imagination :-)
