Woodlands in Autumn are at their finest and I wanted to portray this mixed woodland stream reflecting the rich oranges and browns. I am a Wildlife artist and had always in mind a Sparrowhawk turning following the stream and disturbing this flock of finches (Chaffinches and a Brambling). I am fascinated with reflections and water; this being a shallow stream the decomposing leaves are visible beneath the surface. This painting was featured in my step by step guides on my web site and was purchased after step 2.
