Egret by Ian Griffiths
The Little egret is a recent coloniser of the South of England but is rapidly spreading north. I can be seen around the creeks in Cornwall and is in stark contrast to the dark mud banks. This was painted for a demonstration to the RSPB and what I like about it is that I only used one colour – Ultramarine – plus black and white, I like the surreal quality of the water, and it looks like this.
