Lovely, Val. Hope you are ok now.

Fantastically handsome bird and you have made him proud Val!

Another nice accurate study Val, really well drawn.

Love this Val,hope you are well.

Oh Val, sorry to hear of your mishap, hope you recover quickly. A great opportunity as you say, to get the pencils out and delight us with paintings like this!

Beautiful coloured pencil work

Quite envy your ability to paint birds and in such a convincing way - great wrork Val

A super study of a lovely bird - really well drawn Shirley. I do hope you have no lasting damage from your fall. I fell and broke my right wrist back in June - tried very hard to draw with my left! Didn't post any of them needless to say!!

Beautiful

Hope you are mending. I like this cheeky chap with that quizical look.

Thank you so much everyone for your generous comments and your concern after my fall. Thankfully I didn't break anything, just a few bruises and some aches and pains but it could have been so much worse. I hope your wrist is fully mended now Julie.

No falls in the garden are 'silly' falls, Val, they sap your confidence if they do nothing worse. Take care of yourself, girl! This is lovely.

Thanks Ruth, lovely to see you back.

This is beautifully composed and painted, Val. Love the vibrant colors and the superb rendition of detail. I hope you've recovered from your fall.

Taking it easy after a silly fall in the garden so out come the coloured pencils again. Thought I'd add to my growing series of birds. Thanks for taking a peek.
