How beautiful Val! What a gorgeous red they are, super painting. I have a pink old fashioned rose in the garden which has the most beautiful scent, you don't seem to get that with modern specimens.

So beautiful Val. You’ve mastered the art of giving depth to the petals where they overlap and disappear into the centre. I agree with Lewis about the effect of the leaves you have painted in silhouette. Gorgeous.

A watercolour of my favourite rose, the old fashioned sort that have a beautiful scent. I like to paint flowers "live" but as this rose doesn't last when cut it seemed a shame to waste them so I took a photo. Thanks for taking a peep.
