Terrific, I really like it!.

Excellent pastel Val and iritis nice that your back to your art , looking forward to seeing more.

First of all Val, it's lovely to see you back after ages! This is quirky and imaginative - hope you post more work!

Superb View point and subject cleverly done.

Hello Val! How wonderful to see art on the gallery again. I always liked your art for its originality Val and this shows you haven’t lost your touch, great pastel. Hope you’re well and you stay for a while, are you in the same area?

This is wonderful Val. Love your sense of fun and originality. Good luck in your new abode and hope your arthritic pain subsides. I know how painful it can be as I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. Take care🌞🌞

Val, lovely to see you on here :) I really like this, beautiful water movement swirling around her feet. The underwater stones are great too.

Thank you for your lovely comments Stephen, Paul and your warm welcome back Marjorie. Chris, I'm glad you like the view point though my daughter wasn't too pleased with the perspective, she said it made her legs look like tree trunks and I should have excercised a bit of artistic licence!

Thank you Fiona, nice of you to say I haven't lost my touch but its been so long I did struggle a bit with this. I'm still in the same area, in fact I've only moved into the garden!! I had a "wee granny hoose" ,as my friend calls it, built in the garden, much easier to cope with than the old cottage and so well insulated I'm quite looking forward to the Scottish winter. The lockdown meant it took forever though!

And thank you to the two Caroles, glad you like it. Carole K, arthritis isn't much fun is it? I'd been coping reasonably well with it after three hip replacements and a knee, but is has now taken hold of my hand making art more difficult. Carole S, I'm happy to be back on here, it's like meeting up with a group of old friends I haven't seen for ages ):

Love it! Amusing and well painted. Hope your arthritis is not too troubling and we see more from you again, Val, Txx

Clever idea and a very good pastel, tricky to pull of!

Val, I did laugh when I saw your daughter’s comment - when I did a portrait of my daughter she said I’d made her look stoned. They’re never satisfied!😆

Thank you so much for your lovely comments Thalia, Heather, Russell and Michael much appreciated. Marjorie, a fews years ago I did a portrait of my daughter, she still hasn't forgiven me for her double chin!!

My first bit of art in over 18months due to a house move and troublesome arthritis. Soft pastel on colourfix. My daughter cooling off after a walk during the heatwave.

About the Artist
Val Kenyon

I am a self taught artist or, as I like to say, I'm "unrestricted by formal teaching" which probably explains my mish mash of styles. I paint in most media, watercolour, gouache, oil, coloured pencil and my favourite, soft pastels. I'm inspired by the Scottish landscape, nature and animals and…
