It's a pleasure to see it Val, super pastel work, and such a great simple subject.

This is really gorgeous, Val. I love the hint of turquoise, and that super green in the foreground really enhances the poppies. The tree foliage is so well done, and the tree bark too. It would look lovely on any wall !

It's so beautiful Val, the feel of life and happiness, I truly love it :)

Beautiful pastel Val :)

Wow Val agree with all absolutely beautiful

Really nice one, Val.

This reminds me of a tapestry Val, the colours, shapes and textures. It's a super piece!

The colours and composition in this pastel painting are fabulous Val!

Stunning work, Val! Beautifully composed, with a lovely palette and great layering.

I think the colours are lovely Val - I think it is nicer than a mere copy of the photograph.

Beautiful Val, I really like this, the touches of yellow show the sun peaking through.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to leave such positive comments.

It's a smashing painting Val! The tree trunks are incredible and I love the darkness behind them. Great colours too!

Many thanks Satu.

Agree with all that has been said, Val....a stunningly beautiful pastel...It has a luminous quality.

Lovely colours, Val. Great use of the red in this.

Thank you Chandra and Jennifer, glad you like it.

Val you painted it beautifully and you made a much better job of the trees than I remember from the photo. That particular area in the park is bulldozed now to make way for another path.

Thanks Norah, such a shame the area has now been bulldozed.

A pastel painting inspired by a photograph taken by my friend Norah Blount who kindly gave me permission to use it. Sorry the colours aren't quite true thanks to my lack of photography skills and the the very bad light. The original is slightly greener, less turquoise. I might try this again in oils. Thanks for having a look.
