White Hyacinth

White Hyacinth

Thank you for your comment about my black lab. The background works extremely well here too! I really like this painting, especially the glass vase - very effective.

Val...You have seen and appreciated the beauty of your rescued hyacinth, and simply painted it as it is..... beautifully, and absolutely beautiful! Such subjects are heaven sent, ( whatever or wherever that is) I feel....Delights of the moment....

Val, this is one I would keep, beautiful and of the moment

This works so well, very striking and well painted.

very simple, very good1

Striking - the fallen petal and the reflection - clever.

I thought this was going to be edelweiss before I enlarged it. I love the dead straight stem (plus refraction) contrasting with the soft flowers. It works so well on the black.

Beautiful, almost stylised, painting. So simple with the black, white and green but so effective.

Lovely Val, can almost smell it! wonderful flowers

I agree with all the above.... lovely.

Love the white on black, stunning.

Hi Val, great sense of 3D and depth to the flower head...well observed....Steve

Thank you so much everyone for your lovely comments. I think the hyacinth appreciated being rescued from the elements as it is still filling the dining room with its lovely scent.

It doesnt look rushed its done so well.

Hang on Studio Wall

Pastel on colourfix approx 23/30cm. A white hyacinth rescued from the wind and rain in the garden. Painted whilst taking respite from an oil I am working on, so done rather quickly.
