Good to see this. my uncle (a qualified optician) worked on the precision instruments on the Catalina flying boats during WW2. He was based on Anglesey at the old Bishop's Palace (long since demolished to make way for flats) My aunty and cousin often stayed there with him and I joined them during my school holidays. They were magical days, rowing in the Straits, fishing for shrimps, avoiding the jellyfish which abounded there etc....

Thanks Ruth, I think this aircraft is the most graceful amphibian ever built and could even be classed &quot;pretty&quot; in the same way the Hawker Hunter is to fighters. I&#39;m glad it brought back good memories for you.<br /><br />Geoff Storer
