Mudeford Quay in Christchurch, Dorset is a popular visitor destination for both locals and holidaymakers. It has been painted many, many times by lots of artists who often portray it from areas seen from the normal approach road. I have sited my painting from the opposite direction looking from Stanpit Marshes, (a bird sanctuary where I got a telling off from the warden!!) across to the lifeboat station and surrounding buildings using the height of the approaching squall to enhance the atmosphere.
