A beautiful picture of the entrance to the sea from the Kowie River. It is such a dangerous place for fishermen to enter the sea and many have drowned there.

From a recent trip to South Africa I spotted this scene on the estuary of the Kowie River in Port Alfred. The storm is brewing over the Indian Ocean and causing renowned havoc to the Kowie. The dilapidated rusty watch tower sealed the composition for me as it stood short of the crashing waves it once looked out for to warn shipping negotiating the harbour.
