Fiona Phipps 03 Sep 2013 18:10 Superb painting Peter, very effective use of colour.

Ros P 03 Sep 2013 19:04 This will have taken every one of those 50 hours as well Peter, gorgeous work, I keep meaning to do something like this in pastel and no doubt will some day in the future! This really is super, we can almost touch those rusty stains on the wooden breakers

karyl Quigley 04 Sep 2013 08:34 Great painting, so life like, love the rust on the wood.

Dawn Broughton 04 Sep 2013 09:28 I really do like this type of painting and you do it so well.

Seok Yam Chew 04 Sep 2013 13:33 Beautifully done, Peter - you've really excelled at capturing the textures and the tones.

Avril Soldani 05 Sep 2013 08:12 Superb ! Great and unusual choice of subject..... this is lovely.

Sarah Bottjer 05 Sep 2013 18:39 All I can say is that I agree with every one else on this one. Lovely work :)

Peter Nelson 06 Sep 2013 07:44 Thank you all for your comments, I must admit I am quite stricken with the coloured pencil bug and have recently joined the UKCPS, where they have a very passionate membership, with one direction in mind to promote and extend the CP media. As you all know I just love detail, may be I will venture into the realms of mixed media and bing both CP's and water colours together. I must admit, I am going through an extreamly exciting period, long may it last. Visit there site, have a look at their work!!

10. Deborah Pugh 11 Sep 2013 21:34 Wonderful! I don't think I have the patience for 50 hours! Perhaps I'll stick to watercolour but I'm going to try to get your lovely richness of colour next time I try rusty things. Most inspiring.

I didn't know you vcould transfer comments. Great work on the rust. Did you get to the UKCPS exhibition this year? I didn't get there, basically because I thought it was later than it was and then it was too late. Indeed UKCPS is the way to go for all things CP related. (I'm also a member :) )

I really love this! The subject matter is great and it's so well done. I feel inspired to get my coloured pencils out!

Bravo for the colour of rust!! i'm very sorry for mu english

Reorganising my portfolio and transferring comments. This drawing is my 4th in the series of coloured pencil paintings. Took this photo again at Cromer beach in Norfolk. Just loved the unusual colours and textures created by the sea erosion on the breakers. Hopefully more to come. Cartridge paper 140gsm - 40 x 21cm - Derwent coloursoft and studio pencils. About 50 hours to complete. Please visit the UKCPS site for more information on coloured pencils.
