Another beauty! Wish I could paint birds like you Paul. We have all the different tits thanks to balls of fat ! The crested are very cute too....... ! Will have a look on FB.

Paul our birds are so perfectly rendered, that tiny beak and shiny bright eye make him live on the paper, what a joy, I have not looked on your Facebook page but would love to see your works in progress, fascinating

Paul -thank you for this -you may have seen that I said I'd hoped you'd "do" a long tailed tit in my comment on a previous painting and there it is. What a beautiful painting this is -I really admire your talent and the accuracy of all the bird paintings you do.

Beautiful - accurate yet full of life and character which shows your love of these creatures.

I've seen this developing on your Facebook page, and strongly recommend people to visit it if they haven't already. You have totally mastered this technique of watercolour with acrylic. I'm amazed by the way that you got the photograph, never mind painted from it! The long-tailed tits tend to visit us in gangs, descend for a few minutes, grab anything worth eating, and then take off again - by the time I get my camera out, focus it, trip over the front door step, and get anywhere near them, they're off again.

I am so full of admiration for your patience and talent. Wonderful detail and you manage to capture the characters so well. Beautiful work

You're the master at these Paul. Simply stunning.

Avril - you have Crested Tits!! Now this is something we don't get here in Devon, if you have any good, large photos I would certainly welcome them, :-) Thank you Ros, FaceBook is the place, another update on my Devon Artist page this evening! Thank you Carol, I was glad to finally be able to take a photo of of a LTT.......finally. Thanks Gudrun for following my work. Hi Robert - thanks for following me on FaceBook. The photographs are very tricky to get, I can spend hours sitting very still .........waiting. :-) You are certainly correct about LTT's, they don't hang about very long! Beverley - you make me blush! Thank you and Val - I wouldn't say I'm a master at these by far, each one I do I can never paint them the way I would like, so never happy! :-)

love this little bird, so beautiflly done, we useually have an influx og gold finches around Aprilish, took a photo of them counted up to 40 on and around my bird table, they just seem to fill up for a week or two then off they go.

Thank you Karyl, Goldfinches are one of my favourites! We had around 30 of them in the garden a couple of days ago, what a lovely chime of birds they are! :-)

Beautiful! Such a cheeky little face & delicately painted!

Well, this little beauty has been very evasive where my camera has been concerned! However I finally managed to take a photo of one last week that was good enough for a painting, such tiny beaks! I replaced a fat ball with a piece of wood though so a little bit of artistic licence but shushhh....don't tell anybody! :-) This is watercolour/acrylic on 300gsm SAA Not paper, 225mm x 167mm Time around 8 hours. I am currently doing a WIP on my FaceBook page for this one. If you haven't already been there please 'Like' my page so you get the updates. https://www.facebook.com/thedevonartistpaul also http://www.devonartist.co.uk/
