Thalia Stones sent in this version of Paul's exercise saying: 'I covered the original watercolour on khadi paper with thin acrylic in white, cadmium yellow light and medium and orange, darkening some areas with Indian yellow. When dry I applied a touch of granular gel and heavy gloss very roughly with a pallet knife to the foreground, then thin washes of cobalt, sap green and burnt umber. I flicked and dabbed cadmium yellow into the foreground with a toothbrush and rag. Lastly I scratched out a few stalks with a knife and made a final glaze with Indian yellow'
