I like the art bar shavings adds a nice sparkle the painting, green can be a over powering colour. My attempt at this exercise has gone in the bin! Couldnt get the texture of the wall right. Annette Scholefield

Jane Clarke sent in her version of Paul's exercise saying: 'I washed a thin mix of yellow ochre and burnt sienna on mount board initially. I sponged in the sky using titanium white and primary blue. Yellow ochre,,naples yellow and bright green were then literally smeared over the left hand side of the painting, I put in the wall using white with the corner of a credit card then painted in the trees . I washed over the wall with a dark blue glaze - hated it!.Sponged it off but rather liked the effect. Used a rigger to put some marks in. Everything was so green so put lots of colour in and added art bar shavings.'
