Nice interpretation Bob, I also find find Bockinford hard to use, so easy to lift off and disturb passages I want to keep!

Beautiful shadows.

I don't seem to be able to get on with Bockingford, I prefer Arches. You have a beautiful result here despite your reservations Bob.

Thank you very much Stephen, Rita and Fiona. I've just noticed that the photo of the painting seems a little out of focus...I rushed the photography, as I uploaded it in a bit of a hurry...sorry about that, but at least I've had a go at challenge three by Paul.

Bob Biggart sent in his version of Paul's challenge saying: 'The painting measures approx 8 1/2ā€ x 6 3/4ā€ (220 x 170 mm) and was painted on Bockingford 200lb Not. I am still not really sure of Bockingford, as Iā€™m much more used to Arches, but it does enable corrections to be made by light rubbing out with a brush. I modified the view of the house to make it more interesting. The stubble field was a pale wash of New Gambogue followed by Yellow ochre and some Raw umber. The shadows were made with a strong mix of Winsor Violet and Neutral Tint. Some stubble indication was lifted out after it dried.'
