Leicestershire Villages

This is super Michael love the richness of the colours and that Buttercross does add extra interest, your capturing of these Leicestershire village cottages is so good now and these are such a great example of that, lovely washes

Good contrast in textures between the weathered stone of the buttercross and the cottages behind. Bottle-kicking competition, eh? They know how to live it up in Leicestershire... Don't apologize for two postings in a day, Michael! Blimey, that's a fraction of what some others post - and your postings are always welcome....

Really nice watercolour Michael, super colours, a very fresh feel to your painting.

Excellent piece, Michael - the transition of washes is superb.

Lovely village well done Michael.

Beautiful village scene with such lovely colours Michael!

Thank you all for your kind encouragement

Another fine village scene Michael. Lovely colours and a super thatched roof on the right.

Excellent watercolour Michael

Bright and sunny with lots of gorgeous textures and colours in the stonework Michael.

Lovely clear, crisp washes in this one Michael. So simple yet so effective. The contrast between the roof and background tree really sets off the house. Thanks for commenting on my lake scene. My daughter has been encouraging me to paint some Leicestershire scenes and display them in her farm shop in Asfordby. Looking at your lovely scenes, I might have a go.

thanks Val, Petra, Fiona and Chris. Chris - it sounds a great idea to display them locally so you must have a go. I display mine at several events in the area and they have proved most successful - not in sales but in follow-up with commissions etc

One of your best Michael, lovely watercolour.

Hallaton - the conical building in the foreground is the buttercross - this is the same village which hosts the annual Bottle Kicking competition - it all happens in Leicestershire villages. Hope you like it - oh, and apologies for two postings in one day but I couldn't resist the snail cartoon. .http://www.michaeledwardsartist.co.uk/index.html
