great one,, and it looks good in your colours ..I think it is very good and an improvement on mine ,, you have lovely greens ,,and it is a pleasure for me to see.it...thank you.,bockingford 200 is my favourite paper ,,I am using up a pile of 140 lbs and I have to put up with the buckling ,I never stretch paper ,I use crocodile clips and have to keep moving them as the paper stretches ,some times I roll it up when dry to get rid of the dips and bumps ,still when fathers day comes,, we can ask to have a voucher popped in our card,(I always do)from K.B,and get some 200lbs

Very nice Michael, good sky, lovely tree and farmhouse.

Nicely done Michael.

Love this Michael! Love the slightly different palette and atmosphere.

Love the granulation of colours in the sky. A beautiful country scene.

Love it, Michael - so light, bright and cheerful; maybe next week it'll be like this in reality!

Thanks everyone and especially Alan - not sure about it being as good as yours but much appreciated. I also use KB who I find as good as any any very efficient. As for the colours used I did dip into Hookers green by an obscure make and find it a bit hot (the tree) despite adding burnt sienna and ultramarine - but worth experimenting.

There isn't any one part of this that I could pick out as my favourite Michael......it's all wonderfully executed. Lovely painting and I say this on all your paintings....it's so clean and fresh!

An Alan Owen sketch with the Michael Edwards magic, recipe for a great watercolour.

I think this combination of approaches has produced one of your best paintings yet - hope that isn't a rather back-handed compliment, it isn't meant to be! I found that when I took one of Alan's paintings and produced a hill painting from it, I produced one of the watercolours I'm happiest with, too - I can't explain this, other than that I think it's another pair of eyes that made a difference. This is a clean and fresh watercolour with some sharp and definite lines, a combination I find very attractive - looseness plus calligraphic touches. I've never used Hookers Green in watercolour - it's a bit oppressive in acrylic, I find; but it's certainly worked well in your tree.

Lovely painting, I particularly like the sky.

Crisp and fresh.:)

Gee thanks all - would love to see others having a go

I agree with everyone else. Super painting.

Well deserved response to this watercolour.Very good sky and touch to this, and all your work.

Done this afternoon in about an hour on Bockingford 200lbs rough. I do enjoy painting to sketches by other artists - a bit outside the usual comfort zone but good fun and does stretch you a bit. Cheers Alan - hope you like it
