Nice welcoming scene Michael, good place for Sunday lunch I would guess? I like the misty trees which give depth to the picture.

I agree, the misty trees are great. I also like the pub too and everything else :)

I can certainly sense the dullness of the day from your muted colours and shadows. I think this works very well and is a welcome change from a sunny painting, which seems to be more the norm. I agree about the signs as they provide that little island of detail which makes the painting.

Excellent watercolour michael.

A lovely painting Michael! The trees are really beautiful and the signs are great too.

Thanks all. Stephen - just returned from a sunday lunch at another village pub which I might paint sometime - haven't tried this one yet. I was asked to paint this for a gallery in the next village so hope to see it on their walls soon if they like it.

Charming painting of the pub - being me, what caught my eye was the way the trees on the right were painted; the melting together of the colours which actually contributes so much to the atmosphere of the scene; try screening them out and it's obvious.

Nice one Michael.

An idyllic scene, and I agree with Roberts comment about the trees - brilliantly handled.

Lovely watercolour Michael! Super detail on the signs and the pub but counter balanced with those gorgeous melting trees (I'm envious) on the right.

Fond memories, used to work on the airfield, on Vulcans, sunk many a pint there over the years, ohhh great painting.

Stunning, Michael - love the light touch, with emphasis in all the right places.

Another local village scene. Did this from a photo taken a few days ago in the rain. It was the sign and notice boards which made the scene for me - wouldn't be the same without them.
