Village scenes such as this seem to be most popular in the local exhibitions - for this reason there is a danger, for ar me at least, of concentrating too much on them and losing the freedom and loose approach that other less prescriptive subjects offer. Seeing it on screen some of the colours, especially in the near roof and the grass, appear more vibrant and in-your-face than they do in the original - think I prefer the original.
