Very nice painting Michael, just one thing (if I dare to mention) the shadows on the edge of the grass verges don't blend in well enough IMHO.... not that I know anything about anything haha :-)

Very authentic and real painting - very grounded if you know what I mean. I could just step into the painting and walk down the road and I like that about it. Great sympathetic palette as well.

I wish I could do perspectives like you Michael, I must do more buildings. You have no problems with them at all. Lovely graded washes in the buildings and walls, bright and clean too....your trade mark.

Thanks Lesley and Fiona. I do enjoy painting these scenes although I sometimes think I would like to do more loose modern stuff - but it these type of scenes for which I get most commissions and which seem to sell best.

Lovely painting of a lovely place.

I imagine you get commissions for this sort of painting because you so well capture the feeling and mood of a place with these delicate washes... We're encouraged to be loose, but if you don't go your own way there's not much point in going anywhere at all! There will always be a place for the beautifully painted, classic watercolour of scenes that mean a lot to people: of which this is one.

The lovely greens are so nice. It's very English, and I really like it.
