Suggestions For A Title?

I do like it - as for a title though, I have enough trouble thinking of titles for my own stuff, without having to think of them for other people! I suppose Blue Remembered Hills might be apt, except they're more purple than blue - after that, boy, you're on your own!

'Over the hills and far away' -? love the simplicity of this Michael.

Michael, this is lovely; the white areas are crucial, aren't they, they keep it very alive. Well, I like simple titles myself, but it's such a personal thing and as you know, I have agonised over how to keep them neutral.... in my 'umble opinion something along the lines of 'Moorlands in winter'. And such nice lights in the sky.... 'Northern Lights'?

Another gemlike painting Michael...brilliant. Not sure about snow on hillside tops, just too much of the nasty stuff here to day. Really do like this.

i have a pic called "Blue remembered hills" why not plain and simple "Hill side"

This painting looks even better in real life Michael - lovely washes and granulation. Yes, Hillside would be a good title.

Thanks to you all. I agree with you Helen, I also prefer this approach (although I do enjoy painting both) but it don't pay the bills - well not for me. Frank - yes it hasn't reproduced here as well as I would have liked.

Should have added - Helen's suggestion of Four Peaks rather appeals so that is what it will be !!

Lovely Michael, I like the pastel washes, so beautiful. You have also included the snow-capped peaks.

I like the granulation in the sky wash, edging towards an abstract?

Thanks Carole, Stephen, and Helen. Stephen - yes I am looking into doing a few abstracts in the future. Helen- not sure about a prize but how about CBM after your name (chosen by Michael)

"Approaching Base Camp" sprung to mind. The idea of something looking quite gentle with the prospect of difficult things to come.

Simply lovely Michael.

I agree with Debs, that was exactly what I thought just looking at the painting. 'Over the hills and far away'.

When the image is sufficiently poetic a title will suggest itself spontaneously to the viewer. It did to me, but I'm not telling you what it was (and that's a compliment!).

Another playing-around-experiment. Couldn't think of a title. Love working like this without any consideration for others. Done as a demo in washes and twigs for a friend using basic palette plus twig and ink. In case you wonder, the white areas are the original paper. Hope you like it.
