Quick preparatory sketch - Misterton Church by Michael Edwards

Quick preparatory sketch - Misterton Church

Looking forward to the painting(in between cartoons)

Noce to see your preparatory sketch prior to a painting Michael, must do that more than 'leaping in" as is my wont!

This is perfectly drawn Michael, you have captured this scene perfectly, lovely clear line work, just enough detail

On of the reasons I sometimes dodge plein air painting, though I know it's good for me! Looks very promising, Michael. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Looks good, can't wait for the finished piece.

Great sketch. ... you have reminded me that I need to do my prep. sketch for my next painting.

Thanks all - I'll post it soon.

Look forward to seeing the finished painting Michael.

Good drawing Michael and so interesting to see the beginning of your work and then the finished one later.

A quick sketch done in preparation for a recent commission. The challenge was to capture the church with a countryside foreground which would remind the recipients of their hobby of walking. Well as I couldn't find such a view I had to sort of invent the foreground. In fact the field in which I did the sketch had tall weeds growing in it and the path was entirely overgrown. I ended up with soaking wet trousers doing this - no you've got it wrong - from the knees down I hasten to add !!!
