You are really good at these Michael, the fact that it is not driftwood doesn't matter at all, it looks like aged wood and your obvious carpentry skills helps fashion the pieces into the shapes you want. I went to an exhibition in London last week, St Jude's in the City, I think you would like the work of Alex Malcolmson, google him.

Absolutely charming, love it!

Lesley has described this well, charming indeed.

Very good Michael, a man with many skills.

Really lovely Michael! It would look beautiful in our summerhouse.

Rather smart Michael!

They really are fun to make - pleased you all like it.

These are getting more and more elaborate Michael - great stuff!

What a fantastic idea, Michael. I think this is one of your bests!

You've done a great job here. It's really an eye-catcher. Love it!

I love this - I want one!!

Thanks F, M, A, And T for leaving a comment. Thea - if you do want one just drop me an email at [email protected] with you phone no and I'll give you a call.

Sorry I missed this when you posted it- haven't been on the site for a while. This is gorgeous - it appeals on so so many levels. I love the simplicity of the subject and the soft colours against the dark wood. I bet you could have sold it a dozen times over! I would have bought one!

This is lovely Michael. You really have found a new direction in your art and the results are very appealing. I love the contrast of the soft colours with the dark wood. I bet you could sell this a dozen times over- I would certainly buy one - I love it!

I really love your coastal art Michael. This is my particular favourite -the contrast of the soft colours with the dark wood is particularly effective. I bet you sell this dozen times over- I would certainly buy one - it's lovely!

Michael - I apologise for these repeat postings - when I posted the first I thought it hadn't registered on the site - I hadn't twigged that I was only looking at page 1 of your richly deserved comments, hence I proceeded to post again and again. I would like to blame my computer - however sadly I have to acknowledge that it is my brain!!! You will find multiple comments on some of your other coastal works too. May I suggest that you delete all but one on each - or leave them as testament to how very enthusiastic I am about your work (and what a air-brain I am!). Thanks, Julie

Julie - I'll leave them all as I am so pleased you took so much time to make your comments - you don't know what a boost it is to the ego at a time when I am a bit in the doldrums when it comes to my first love - watercolours. Actually my first love is and always has been my wife - bless her - but you know what I mean !!!

your sculpturesare all great and amusing Michael .like this one for the harbour effects and the boat. What does your sculptures scale at compared with, say, your hand or a measuring rule? They look as thoughi i could hold one in my hand easily.

Nice one Mike, but they are all really good. What sizeare they all roughly asi imagine they are quite miniature fromthe photos ?

And here's another - not from driftwood but from bits of old wood collected from construction site traffic plus a bit of decking - if you've no coastline near you just have to innovate..! By the way I've since straightened the lamp post which is made from 2.5 electrical cable - more innovation!
