A interesting explodion of colour, the ink detail and skilful washes work really well.

You are so versatile, I love the composition and vibrant colours, I am not surprised it sold

Love the colours and especially the vase, super work!

I love it as well! As often happens in painting, the experimental ones turn out so well. The problem that I have with my "experiments" is that I can never replicate them. I try too hard to get it right and the painting looses its original spontaneity. Now, are you going to paint another one like this and prove me wrong :)

Love it, Michael! An it's hardly surprising it sold - it's beautifully done. I especially like the grand flourishes and the vibrant movement of the brushstrokes. Well done!

A fabulous burst of colour Michael, I like the ink effect especially. I use odd bits of mount boards for painting on, only I put a coat of gesso on first, you can get some really strange effects using watercolour on gesso.

Thanks so much for all your very kind comments - I really must try something like this again. I only paint in one medium, watercolour, and what I don't want to happen is that I become a formulae painter - it's painting pictures such as this that encourages me to try new ideas and ways of using the medium.

Just spotted this one, I love it. My kind of colours and loose which unfortunately I can't seem able to do.

Stunning colours, a very eye catching painting, great experiment.

Just saw this, when commenting on another of your drawings: a very powerful colour-burst of a work - very effective.

Just discovered this brilliant bit of fun..... New direction ????

This one's a bit of a surprise - bet you didn't think I do flowers. This was really an experiment - it was painted on a mount board off-cut. I cut all my own mounts and often use the off-cuts for drawings - this was the first time I used one for watercolour - not at all easy controlling the washes but it seems to have worked - and it sold! What appears to be silver is actually black ink reflecting the light .
