I'm with Margaret Michael, I really like this one too :)

Got to agree with the girls Michael brilliant just superb

Like an old postcard, fantastic Michael!

Very nice Michael, I like the textures you have suggested with the pen work.

Wow, Michael, this is fantastic! I like this beauty very much.

My type of building Michael and painted well.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I am hoping to take some photos of old tudor buildings locally and paint them in similar style - this one used an old faded do-eared print as a basis.

Beautifully captured in real authentic style Michael.

A superb piece Michael, it really seems as though it could have been painted in the Tudor era.

Outstanding work, Michael.

Thanks so much Gudrun, Jim. Cesare, and Russell for your kind encouragement

Great work, Michael

Such detail I admire your attention to it and your choice of palette, a great watercolour.

Someone was having trouble painting windows in watercolour as I remember - well: here's how it's done. Using white gouache or worse, Chinese white on all those leaded windows would have made a terrible mess - Michael's used the paper itself to make his lights, and it works so much better than any other technique. The painting reminds me of some of the illustrations of old London, done in ink by the original illustrators of Dickens' work.

Thanks Timothy, Lesley and Robert. Robert - yes thanks for the idea - there are some great illustrations in Dickens original works and I have a pile of his original magazines published back in the 19th century - they are in storage and I had forgotten about them - must get out and see what I can find for inspiration

Just looking around for watercolour paintings, and I came across this. What a gem, it reminds me of the book illustrations that I admire.

This is really lovely.
