Another top-class rendition Michael. Good to see you using figures to give more life to the work.

Nice olde world feel with interesting detail of times past Michael.

I love the gentle palette you have used, Michael. It adds to the time and atmosphere of a more genteel period. Lovely and peaceful composition.

Nice painting Michael I like it

Thanks Jim, Louise, Jennifer and Dennis for your comments. I love these hiddledy piggledy compositions - the difficulty is finding the sources - I know they are out there but they are few and far between these days.

Brilliant Michael in every aspect I hope you succeed in your search for these delightful buildings. maybe people might see sense and start giving us places like these to live in I am sure harmony would then return to our lives. BRAVO SIR

Thanks Dennis - I love this technique/style with a limited palette and detailed pen drawing to start with.

Michael, I also love pen and ink with watercolour, it always produces a nicely defined painting - this is super, it has a lovely atmosphere.

Yes..this is lovely...real warmth &atmosphere...

Excellent use of blue in the shadows.

Another lovely old building with character Michael. I love the way you have added colour to it.

Thank you all Jenny, Sylvia, Linda and Adele - so pleased you like these. I have about 100 old Dickens magazines printed in the 1800's (all yellow and a bit musty) and have just started going through the illustrations for inspiration but, so far, they seem to be all of characters rather than street scenes.

Love the colours Michael, well done.

Thanks George. Light red, Ultramarine, raw and burnt Sienna, cobalt blue - with a touch of cad yellow in the main buildings walls and a pre-mixed green of some sort from a corner of my palette for the frames.

I really like these olde worlde paintings of yours Michael. The colours in this one are splendid.

Thanks Margaret - much appreciated.

Wonderful painting, Michael.
