Wonderful sky and great lighting effects! spot on about the sketching reference. Like many I find them invaluable during the rainy days or times when there is no time to go out and paint, and you have that fidgety painting hand! It obviously works well for you too. B rgds Chris

Wow - thanks so much for all your generous comments - it's so encouraging. I wanted to emphasize the openness of the scene and the big Norfolk sky - I do love skies especially with large billowing clouds and I get more enjoyment from painting skies than from almost any other subject - probably because there are no perspectives, rules, limitations etc to follow and you can be as free as you like - great fun to paint.

Very pleasant painting, I love the sky with those low clouds, look like a shower of rain.
