Sort of Venice - ish

Should have added that its a bit of twig and ink plus my basic palette - light red, raw and burnt sienna, ultramarine, paynes gray plus a bit of green from a tube - probably sap green - can't remember what it was I squirted out!

A good old splash with brush and stick. I generally like it ..I think. Masterful sky , great reflections , but have a bit of a problem with the dark lines...a bit heavy ? That green foliage on the bank is masterful.

The black lines are a bit heavy would have been worth going with pen for those or as you have sort of said yourself a bit of twig if you could have found one that would have given you the same really thin lines of a pen

Excellent stuff, Michael, especially that sky, very well rendered. I like the additionns of the splash of green, and a couple of red shirts, perhaps they could have been a little more insistent. No problem with the lines, have you tried making a pen using a bit of bamboo, I have found that a quite sympathetic drawing tool. best Mick

Nice and bold work Michael, I think the strong lines adds to the bold syayement. I remember buying some bamboo pens from a company on the internet, can't remember the name , quill and co may be?
