Stunning painting Sarah, and a fascinating way of making a point, great details in this and it must hav taken you ages, great result you must be really happy with it

Lovely detailed painting, Sarah. I don't know DeLempicka so might have to search to see her style. Your patience to paint this must be limitless - it must have taken hours and hours.

Super-duper painting, very clever theme too. I love DeLempicka and her influence shows here but your own style shines through, love it!

Wonderful painting Sarah, great skill.

I'll look her up. Wonderfully clever and very effective. What an expression.

Not sure what is actually going on in the paintings and am not familiar with the artist you mention. However, I can really enjoy the quality of this painting and your attention to detail. The newsprint is wonderful!

Thank you all for you kind comments. To explain the painting a little better Froome was paid to ride for Wiggins in last years Tour. However there were moments when he 'accidentally' dropped him up the climbs despite doing an enormous amount of work at the front of the race. Talk began to surface that he was the stronger rider. Obviously this year he showed how much better he was than anyone in the peloton. So I choose the master and servant relationship as a metaphor for their roles in the race. Whilst I have Wiggins sat in all his glory the moment on the newspaper is when Froome accidentally dropped him up the climb and I suppose the newspaper title is just asking who was the better rider all along.

In this painting I am really asking the question of whether Chris Froome was the better rider all along. The composition itself is heavily inspired by the artist DeLempicka as I have always loved her work and wanted to try and do something that was a little bit of her time.
