A handsome devil of a fellow, if I may say so... and a very good portrait.

I don't know if you painted this from life or foto or both...whatever...it's technically excellent and a very fine image. Composition is spot on and `i hope that your partner is pleased. Only two comments...I wonder why...far lesser works receive many more...something about people's perceptions..too good not always the right flavour..a passing thought..

Thank you Roger for you kind words about my painting. I painted it from a series of photos I took over many days. As this is the first proper portrait i have painted I took many dud photos that were useless. I am a self taught artist so am always learning from my mistakes. I'm really sorry if I misunderstood the nature of this site but I thought it was for people who enjoy painting and paint in their spare time? I have s regular job and paint for the love of it. I just wanted to use the opportunity of posting my work for free.

This site is for everyone. This is an excellent portrait. I find looking at this site inspiring and it keeps me going. There is such an infinite variety of styles. Keep posting.
