This is very understated, Max, but I suspect the colours are brighter in the original as reproducing paintings doesn't usually do them any favours. I can see that you have really got into the limited palette - but haven't resisted your signature red accents! Actually I am glad you have added the red buoy and sails otherwise the painting could be a little too understated. Your inate sense of fun and colour has been used to good effect here. I always think that limited palette is a difficult one to work with, especially if you are not going to go for dark or very vibrant colours. I like the way you have graded the colours of the rocks on the right. Your boats, as always, reflect your love of them. I think you were right to keep the house a little misty so as not to detract from the central boat. Good treatment of a tricky exercise and well done for stretching yourself to try new ways of painting!

This was my first attempt at a limited pallette set by my art teacher i wasn't thrilled with it but felt obliged to do my bit. Three boats sky & shore was all we were allowed, so this was my contribution. But once again thank you for your comments Thea they help enormously.

Lovely sense of that " airiel perspective" I also like the touches of red...

Thank you for your kind comments, i tried to show the distance in this painting keeping the house slightly out of focus.
