Overdone the roofs!! Not a bit of it. They are fantastic - the colours and shapes. The whole scene makes me want to walk down into this village and enjoy the houses, the sea and the cliffs. Great stuff.

You have done it again Thea you have boosted my morale no end, i to like this painting & enjoyed doing it.

I like this painting. I think the colours are good and you have captured the "feel "of the place. You chose a difficult viewpoint , and you have pulled it off . Well done.

Thank you for your comments Ann. I Got just as much enjoyment in painting this picture as you have had viewing it. I am glad you liked it, Max.

Nice painting Max, I like your roofs too. Lovely colours - difficult perspective which you have done very well. PS Thank you for your two last comments on Iris and Grace - Grace it was a very sunny day in my garden which I am glad you think I have captured!

Don't worry Max, Have you checked out the Newlyn School of artists. I like this very much

Thank you Jeannette & Maureen for your kind comments. I have looked at the web site you mentioned Maureen & liked what i saw thank you.

The roofs set it off for me, great colours and sense of the place

Glad you liked it, i am trying to improve every time i do a painting.

finally looked into your gallery , reminds me of last years holiday in cornwall, i must post my picture of boscastle on my gallery. i like your paintings very much max and thank you for all your encouraging comments. by the way my cat is called jules he is nearly a year old.

Glad you liked my painting Lilias....look forward to seeing your painting of Boscastle......also thank you for telling me your cats name.

The roof colours are great; I don't understand your fear of colour. Have you tried wetting each roof , waiting till the shine goes off just so the paper is damp, then lightly touching in quite strong colour and letting the water take it where it wants? It won't always cover the entire roof but the highlights it leaves can work really well. Where is this? It reminds me almost of looking down on Robin Hood's Bay or Staithes although all the houses there have the same colour roofs.

This was completely from my imagination Diana......it would have been too boring having the rooves all the same colour so i jazzed it up a bit (sorry)
