I can see what you are getting at in this painting with the use of the strong turquoise blue and the organgey brown - which are opposing colours. The only little thing I would say is that the sky is so strong that it is difficult to understand what you are saying about the sea and where the horizon is. You may have intended to make the sky as important as the sea, so it is only my view os this. The foreground rocks are good with lots of movement in them (if you know what I mean). I would still like you to use your talent with colour here as I think more varied colour would have increased impact.

These foreground rocks are so "rock like" Great.

Here you already darkened the hue and it looks very good. I like the background mountain with all the tones and the foreground rocks have the texture of roughness. Well done and thanks for your comment on "by the river".

Thank you Thea, Sylvia, & Lorraine for your comments. Just one point Thea I have left the sky white to give the impression that all the light is coming in from the top & not from the side, the blue is distant mountains, once again i value your comments i can see what you mean. Thank you all once again.

Sorry - misunderstood about the mountains. Can see it now!

Hi Max. I like the drama of this particular work...Though watercolour is not my medium etc...I too can see that you are developing your mastery of it...the horizon to the left is hard to work out...Did you photograph this with flash? or did you scan it on? I also like what I see in your recent additions to your growing gallery too.

Thank you for your comments Phil, I'm glad you like my gallery, it has given me more insentive to improve my paintings. Your question about the horizon on the left, i left it white to depict the spray going over the rocks. This painting was scanned & It doesn't always work out right.

Well Max I've had a look at your gallery so i'm going to post this one for all...I love your work your use of colour is lovely and the confidence of your work is great so spontainious...water colour can be unforgiving but you have taken it and run with it just lovely

I am glad you liked my gallery Patsy... this is a years hard work but enjoyable just the same. Watercolour can be so daunting at times, especially when things go wrong. But must keep at it & not let it beat me.

HI Max, thought i;d pop in and take a peek at your gallery, and to say many thanks for comments on my work. yes i agree with the above comments, you do have a wonderfull skill, with this medium, your paintings are so vibrant and fresh.. and you could certainly teach me how to paint rocks..as your are so good. Thank you Irene for your comments, i love doing seascapes & the rocks are a challenge.
