Poor old church - you've caught the sense of desertion and bleakness: always something haunting about buildings neglected and left to crumble back into the landscape.

I agree with Robert, this is very atmospheric. Love your spontaneous penwork and the limited choice of colours.

Originally built in 1603, then rebuilt in 1722, this church finally fell into disrepair around 100 years ago when a new church was built closer to the hamlet of Stalling Busk itself. Painted the other evening on location. Mixed media on paper, 15" x 22"
