Great on the spot study - how do you manage your ink, as a matter of interest? I know that if I carried a bottle about with me, I should inevitably spill it all over my trousers.....

Thanks for all your kind comments Robert - really appreciated. As regards the ink situation it is a struggle. I carry all my stuff around in a shoulder bag (it's a shooting bag actually!) and my ink bottles are in a plastic container just in case any decide to leak. When painting I tend to sit on a small folding stool with my board on my knee and the ink bottles opened but sat inside the plastic container - so far I haven't had any disasters!

What a joy of a painting...love the spontenaity of it.

Thank you Sylvia! It seemed a bit tame until I attacked it with my oil pastels...

A storm approaching the tiny hamlet of Storiths above Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire. The farm in the centre is 'Buffers' - a great little farmhouse tearoom. Painted on the spot in mixed media (pen and ink, ink wash and oil pastel) on Crawford & Black 230gsm watercolour paper. 15" x 11"
