Ford Mustang in the wet

Absolutely dynamic.

Wow, that's a biggie and masterly use of watercolour

It’s enormous! I love the viewpoint of the car and bet it looks amazing on such a large scale

Thank you, it does look more painterly in reality, the huge size and subsequent reduction rather tightens the image.

I like it very much. It must look stunning at that size and I didn't know you could get watercolour paper that large! Is it to be framed and hung on your own wall?

Thanks Steve. Yes you can get Saunders Waterford on a 10metre roll. As I did this in acrylic I will mount the paper on board, varnish it and put it in a tray frame.

This is my biggest painting yet at 1.2 metres square. It is watercolour though I used Golden Open acrylic. I use diluted washes on Saunders Waterford high white not paper making uses of the paper white and translucency. I came across this mustang in a car park and photographed it on a white out day. I put it into an imagined setting and coloured up the reflections to match. As usual it was put down quickly but I have to say it’s exhausting painting fast this big!
