This jumped out at me Marjorie, it’s so touching. It sings out love.

That’s an angelic face Marjorie……gorgeous. I’ve never been particularly drawn to portraits of children…… except for Russell’s portraits and your own……you both add some essence of who they are, and the love you have for them. I could cuddle this little lady, and that’s not me!! 😂

Well you’re both very kind! Thank you. Incidentally, I must have dropped something on her right arm as I was photographing, looks like a crumb…..

Oh so lovely!! Butter wouldn’t melt- or would it!?

Delightful Marjorie and what a pretty little dress.

She’s a very happy little girl Tessa…and thanks Denise.

Absolutely agree with John, it sings of love and warmth, as well as great skill...who needs masking fluid!!

Brilliant - I've got Arches rough, which doesn't suit me at all; would try the fine grain, but it's not cheap; an expensive way to learn you don't get on with a paper. Did someone not say that masking fluid and cotton rag papers don't get on? Not my area of expertise, but think I remember reading that the masking can tear the paper. Anyway you clearly didn't need it.

A beautiful painting of your beautiful granddaughter, how could I not like it Marjorie?

This is absolutely wonderful Marjorie! So beautiful!

Delightful portrait Marjorie!

Smashing portrait Marjorie!

So good Marjorie, a lot of love in this

Super work Marjorie. (You say Arches fine grain, it looks pretty coarse on my PC...never used it myself.)

Well done Marjorie. Great use of the white paper despite your lack of masking fluid

Lewis, I agree, it does look coarse - might be the camera picking up the texture more….it is called fine grain….

Nearly missed this Marjorie. Haven’t been able to log on lately. An enchanting portrait and an expression full of innocence. Love how the bottom half gently fades out.

A sensitive portrait beautifully painted Marjorie.

Thank you for all your lovely and always supportive comments!

This is so gorgeous, Marjorie. I hope you frame it.

Carol, this is a “ try out” to familiarise myself with her features. I’ll be doing others - thank you for your comment.

Watercolour on Arches fine grain. Forgot to take my masking fluid which, I suppose, may have allowed me to use stronger tones. Youngest granddaughter.
