Super clever and very cleverly painted.

Love the effect you have created 🙂

Lovely painting, looks like the Lewis men chess set ? Such beautiful pieces .

This has a very ghostly feel to it Marjorie and the pieces are eerily animated. Great stuff.

Very dramatic lighting. The black pieces look suitably menacing. Love it.

That looks quite spectacular, Marjorie!!

Good Painting Marjorie. Very interesting pieces, look quite sinister in a way !!

The pieces look almost as menacing as my chess set! Very clever indeed!

They’re just a group of hooligans!

Super idea and painting to match! You always spot a good subject Marjorie.😃

I put my thinking cap on Tessa💂‍♂️

Absolutely fabulous Marjorie.

Great imagination, super painting Marjorie.

Lovely looks like another family 😅✨️

Ah yes Faye😆Thanks Denise and Chris and all you lovely others for the comments!

Yes the Lewis chessmen...super. May the best man win.

They are quite sinister pieces, the Isle of Lewis set - I keep meaning to buy a replica set, but lacking anyone at the moment to play against it would be a bit pointless. Reminds me, this, of the Rosemary Sutcliffe novel, Knight's Fee - the first serious novel I ever read.

Very effective, Marjorie, and has been said, quite ghostly and menacing.

Really love this clever idea!

Eye catching and though it’s a still life there is a menacing movement in the painting. Brilliant

Nice technique Marjorie I don't mind a game of Chess.

I love this - it’s so dramatic and full of light! They have character.

Thanks for the comments Sylvia, Robert, Jenny, Thalia, Martin, Shaun, Coral and Janet!😀

Very unique composition - lovely work Marjorie!

Oil on board, 7”x9”. The board wasn’t set up but I loved the light streaming between the pieces.
