That's lovely, such a natural scene and so well painted. Both expressions are spot on, and I like the soft background work.. A real lovely painting I'm sure she'll cherish in years to come.

What a stunning painting, Marjorie. her expression is priceless! I agree with everything Andre rightly says about it. Just Gorgeous

Very good look on the childs face and I love the soft lines away from the focul points.

Wonderful expression on the child's face! Well painted.

That's brilliant - great expression on the girl's face.

Thanks a lot Andre, Thalia and David - I'm relieved it's finished tho' I enjoyed doing it most of the time.

Good to see the whole scene- lovely painting Marjorie.

This is wonderful Marjorie, the look on your granddaughters face says it all, beautifully painted.

Such a sensitive and engaging pastel. Beautifully soft!

Linda, Maureen, Tessa, Margaret and Sarah - thankyou for commenting.

Marjorie this is stunning. The expressions on both the faces are so natural. A fabulous painting.

What a result! Terrific. So glad it turned out so well.

Utterly charming study Marjorie. Very slightly petulant, resigned and a possible paddy simmering just below the surface. Lovely.

This is simply delightful Marjorie, what an achievement, and of course, a special keepsake to cherish and pass on. Some lovely work has gone into this piece.

A beautiful painting, very real, the expressions just right. Marvelous work, Marjorie.

stunning painting Marjorie

You must be thrilled Marjorie, I agree with all previous comments, such a wonderful outcome!

Thanks Ellen, it's something special painting grandchildren, as you know.Fred, thanks for wishing me well after the smaller study. Jim, you're right, but sweets saved the day! Thanks Alan, so pleased you like it. Thankyou Lewis, As with everyone, I value your comments, and thanks Georgina and Fiona - it wasn't without trials! The slightest change to a feature and it puts everything wrong and, as I said on the forum, I trod oil paint around the house.

Utterly , utterly gorgeous. Love it. The little ones expression....brill. I do hope you kept a lock of her hair .

What a fabulous painting, Marjorie. I've read the other comments and was so pleased to see that everybody mentioned that priceless expression. The "sitter's" face says it all and the cutter is the picture of concentration and possibly anxiety. The highlights in the hair are magical. Brian

What lovely comments Sylvia and Brian - big thanks!

That's a stunning portrait Marjorie, lovely expressions.

Stunning Marjorie, I love the expressions, a truly wonderful painting.

Wonderful painting Marjorie, beautiful portrait of your granddaughter, I love the movement you've created with the hand, scissors and hair, I can almost hear the 'snip snip!'

Wonderful in every way, shape and form.

Fabulous Marjorie. The light is so wonderful and I like the fading out.

I think everything has already been said Marjorie -but I'll just add that I think this portrait really is particularly special. I hope your granddaughter treasures this as she grows up.

What can i add ? its a beautiful painting with lovely soft colours. Great work.

Very impressive Marjorie! That must have been tough to paint and it turned out perfect.
