Thanks Heather, Thalia and Martin. It was trying to work out how to portray the light..halfway there I think re tones, colours etc.Would be easier for me in oils or acrylic….Martin, have you walked along there? It leads towards the castle.

A narrow dark path around the Ember gardens, the light around the corner. Gouache again but may repeat it in oils.
