Good work Marjorie, a face of humour and character. Lively eyes.

Well worth the effort Marjorie

Still turned out a treat Marjorie!

For all your troubles Marjorie, it's still a knock out!

I know the feeling Marjorie and haven't found good enough pastels or charcoal to suit me. This is a great portrait after all your struggles. Waiting for the painted version.

Jim, I have a little pencil sketch of her when she was about 7 and the eyes look just the same. And big Thankyou to Carole, Peter, Fiona and Satu - I finally dipped my toe in the water again!

Nice work Marjorie against all the odds you've turned out a nice drawing

Very well done, Marjorie.

Great portrait! I think one of your best works.

Thankyou Dennis, Cesare and Timothy - now, If I could just be a fly on the wall when you put paint on Timothy.

Ha, just read the ambiguity here, should have a comma after "on"! Pedantic or what?

I often have days like this where an array of artistic implements lead me a merry dance ; it's still a very good piece of work with some lovely tonal contrasts ; I've been away for the last while without the temptations of the internet and now back to reality hope you have a happy , artistic and peaceful new year

Thanks Dermot, for the comment and the good wishes.

You have certainly caught some thing with those very expressive marks Marjorie

Thanks John. Where have you been lately? Haven't seen any of your work for ages.

It's wonderful Marjorie, she has a lovely face.

Hi Marjorie, December was a busy time for me, plus I have a commission to sorting out for a game shooting club. About half way through it now. Happy New Year.

Oh this is great, Marjorie, the struggles you describe don't appear in the work, it doesn't look overworked and it has a freshness and great expression.

Oh boy was this frustrating! The lining paper kept uncurling and coming unstuck from the board, the putty rubber had lain unused so it had dried up. I didn't do her justice but I intend to do another in paint.
