You have captured the desolation of this place Perfectly. I was there one May and it was considered too dangerous to go out and about there.

Thank you so much for that Carole much appreciated and yes I have been going in the mountains for just over 50 years and it seems more and more people just underestimate the power and unpredictability of nature and the hills, also do not have the experience or equipment to go on their own, SORRY that's my pet rant over :)) thank you again.

A great representation of the difficulties that face the climber in such challenging circumstances Malcolm.

An effective painting Malcolm. I particularly like the foreground and the figure.

thank you Fiona and Diane for those great comments and observations much appreciated as always, thanks for the comment on the figure Diane, it was a strange thing to do because I actually did it in some detail and then it gets semi obscured with spin drift snow but that was the only way I could make it believable.

Thank you for that Michael, I appreciate your comment especially as you sound as though you have experienced those conditions, the year this is from I actually have a run of photos I took as a storm blew in that went from a good distance of line of sight to a total white out in less than 15 min, luckily we were all experience in winter work and managed OK, winter was always my favorite time on the hills.

This painting is based on one of my yearly winter trips I had in the Highlands of Scotland many years ago, we had gone to the Cairngorm and the weather was a bit awkward at times, this is based on one day when the forecast did not actually play to the script, but all regular hill walkers and climbers will know this scene from experience to one degree or another.
