Tremendous painting. Acrylic? I am also interested in the fact that you are painting from your expeditions photos and slides. One can tell you are just being reminded of the sensations and sights rather than just purely copying images. It confirms many people's view, including mine, that if you use photos etc, you have to have taken them yourself so that your subconscious will pick up the nuances others would not.

Thank you for those observations much appreciated Gudrun, the painting is in watercolour with body colour for the white. I find that to produce a painting that in anyway satisfies me, it has to be of something I have experienced, I need to feel what I am doing.

This painting was based on a photo a took quickley when we were caught in a developing storm in the Cairngorms one winter just before everything turned the same shade of grey and white, hill walkers will know what I mean.
